Priscilla Queen of Devon is our latest addition to Westlake Holidays. She is a classic example of what can happen when you get over excited on Ebay. Having to then travel all the way from Scotland, she unfortunately lost a few of her extremities on the way here. With the reality (and her size) setting in, she needed a place to reside whilst she was being restored. A few “modifications” were required to Tim’s workshop. But in she went and stayed for a few years. She was lovingly restored and many of the original features kept and embraced but with the added mod cons that we have become accustomed to in the modern day.
A lovingly refurbished 1960s Showman’s Wagon in a quiet farmland location surrounded by green fields and with access to wonderful countryside walks. This is the perfect retreat for a couple looking for a peaceful getaway. Within 3 miles you will find the pretty villages of Winkleigh and Hatherleigh, where you will find local shops and pubs. The village of Iddesleigh is also close by (2.5 miles), where Michael Morpugo wrote War Horse.
The area is also known as War Horse country. Dartmoor and Exmoor are within 27 miles for those that enjoy walking, and cyclists are well catered for in the area with the famous Tarka Trail. Visit the North Devon coast (21 miles) where you will find sandy beaches and sheltered coves to explore. You will also find riding stables, coarse fishing at Stafford Moor and RHS Rosemoor Gardens, all within 12 miles.

This iconic Showman’s Wagon has been carefully refitted, with bespoke interior and central heating, into a stylish and private bolthole to get away from it all at any time of the year.
The property nestles in its own private space within the grounds of the Owner’s home, along with another holiday property. As you step inside this truly unique property you will find yourself in the lounge/kitchen/diner area. The cosy lounge is the perfect spot to relax, with a welcoming wood burner and Smart TV. The kitchen area is fitted with a combination oven/microwave, 2 ring gas hob and fridge with freezer compartment. A compact, contemporary shower room with shower and WC is just off the kitchen area. Head towards the rear of the Wagon and you will find the cosy double bedroom.

Throw open the door onto a private raised decking area with far reaching countryside views, a perfect area to relax and enjoy breakfast in the fresh air or cook alfresco on the BBQ out on the lawn. Also accessed up the drive is the utility room with freezer, washing machine, dog shower and honesty shop. Ample parking can also be found next to the property.

There is also a EV car charger on site. This is shared with the other property Holder’s Barn.
